Making STEM careers feel like something you could actually do.
The Challenge
GBSIoT wanted to inspire more young people into STEM, particularly young people who didn’t necessarily see those careers as being for them. That meant finding the right people as well as making the right films.
The Method
Our Community Manager spent 15 days on contributor research and outreach, contacting 77 organisations before we selected 14 people from across engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, transport and construction. Then we got them doing, not just talking. Rather than relying on traditional talking heads, we filmed contributors in their real workplaces: underneath trains, working on aircraft, in factories and out on location. Animation brought job roles and career pathways into the films without interrupting their stories.
77 organisations.14 contributors.27 films.
