Solihull Tourism

Urban Break, Rural Escape

A suite of six destination films for Solihull, built around the campaign idea of an urban break and a rural escape.

An urban break. A rural escape. One destination.

The Challenge

For Visit Solihull, we created a suite of destination films designed to challenge perceptions of the borough and showcase just how much there is to discover. The creative idea was built around Solihull’s contrasting character: an urban break and a rural escape. Within a relatively small area, visitors can move from shopping, restaurants and major entertainment destinations to historic villages, countryside, independent businesses and luxury hotels. Our job was to bring those different experiences together into one coherent destination story.

The Method

We produced six films, each exploring a different aspect of the visitor experience: Stay, Enjoy, Experience, Explore, Indulge and Connect. The films combined cinematic ground-level photography with drone footage, slow-motion sequences and animated graphics, while putting real visitor experiences at the heart of the campaign. Locations included destinations such as Hampton Manor, Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens and Resorts World. The content was designed with social media in mind from the outset, creating films that could quickly capture attention while still giving audiences a real sense of place. Rather than simply creating a catalogue of attractions, we wanted the films to convey what spending time in Solihull actually feels like.

6 films.One destination story.

What We Delivered

A suite of six destination films, each exploring a different aspect of the visitor experience, from Stay and Enjoy to Indulge and Connect. Designed for social media from the outset, with films that capture attention quickly while giving audiences a real sense of place. The Urban Break, Rural Escape campaign helped position Solihull as a destination offering the best of both worlds, generating strong audience engagement, increased traffic to tourism content and positive responses from local businesses and tourism stakeholders.
