From livestream brief to full event production.
The Challenge
Moving Ahead originally brought us in to livestream their event at Sadler’s Wells. But as plans developed, it became clear they needed more than a broadcast partner. They needed someone to take responsibility for the production of the whole event. That meant stepping beyond the usual film and video brief and bringing together the people, planning and live production needed to make a major event run smoothly.
The Method
We approached it much like any complicated production: work out what needs to happen, get the right people in the right places and keep communication clear. Working alongside Vivid Broadcast, show caller Rhian Thomas, vision director Phil Jennings, the team at Sadler’s Wells and the wider Method crew, we managed the moving parts from planning through to the live event. There were challenges along the way. There usually are. The job was making sure the audience never knew about them.
What We Delivered
A successful live event at Sadler’s Wells, with Method overseeing the wider production as well as the livestream. More importantly, it proved something we already suspected: the skills behind good film production travel well. Planning, problem-solving, calm communication and putting the right people together can take you a long way.
